The man’s house was raided by agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency last week, which later turned out to be a mistake. The reason? Department of Homeland Security agents traced a distributor of child pornography back to the man’s home Wi-Fi router.

The trouble was, the man wasn’t the one distributing the illicit and illegal material — authorities say it was his neighbor, who was connecting to his Wi-Fi network. The agents didn’t have the wrong house, but it took them a week to determine that they had the wrong suspect.

For the less tech savvy among us, protecting an Internet router can be a daunting task, requiring technical know-how that gets confusing. But with just a few seconds, the router’s manual, and some understanding of what you’re looking for, setting up at least some router security can be pretty easy, and can save Internet users from issues like identity theft and an unfortunate visit from the U.S. government. Here are a few tips for keeping your network, and your data, away from those who would hijack it.

Adding some kind of password to your network is a way to immediately discourage probably 99 percent of the people who could jack into your Wi-Fi connection remotely, and it really is just about the easiest thing ever to do to protect yourself. All you need is the Ethernet cable that comes with a router when you pull it out of the box or installed by a cable company, and the manual that comes with the router. By using the cable to plug directly into the router, a computer can access the router’s internal settings using an Internet browser. The address (usually in the form of what’s called an IP address, generally 192.168.1.1 or something similar) gets you into the router’s inner workings, but you need the cable to access it, so it can’t be altered remotely. The router’s manufacturer password is also included in the manual (usually it’s “admin” or “password”), and you should change that too from the settings menu for added internal security to keep prying eyes out.

From there, it’s usually as simple as going to the security settings for your router and activating an encrypted password called a WEP or WPA key. This is presented in the form of a long chain of letters and numbers that the router can generate for you. You can specify a password of your own, but the router’s generated key is a much stronger encryption than using a password someone might be able to guess. Most modern computers will save passwords when you connect to your home Wi-Fi network, so you shouldn’t need to specify the network password again when signing onto the Internet, unless something gets reset.

While it is absolutely essential to use a password or encryption key to keep your Wi-Fi network secure, there are a number of other easy steps to make it even more protected.

Each computer that uses your network has a specific number attached to it called a “MAC (Media Access Control) address.” This is actually a physical number assigned to the actual Wi-Fi adapter hardware in your computer or mobile device. From the internal settings of your router, you can determine the MAC addresses of the computers that you want to be able to access your network and specify them to the router. Any device that doesn’t have the right MAC address will be denied access.

In order to set MAC addresses, you’ll need to have the devices you want to be able to use on your network connected so you can see their addresses in the router’s “MAC Address” section. There, you can usually just click a button that turns on the router’s MAC limiting setting, and then select which addresses are allowed access to the network.

Most routers also have an internal firewall program you can enable from the settings menu. This is anti-hacking software that makes a network more difficult to access from the outside, and turning it on is generally really easy. It’s also a good idea to protect your computers and devices with firewall software (Windows has one built in, but it’s not a bad idea to invest in better ones) that you can buy commercially to protect your data even further.

There is a slight inconvenience with MAC address filters, as they can complicate things whenever you want to add a new device to your network. So if your wife’s cousin wants to connect to the network, for instance, you’ll need to go back and add his MAC address to the router’s list. Of course, this is a small price to pay for added security.

From within the same settings menus that you adjusted the MAC settings and turned on your encryption key, you can also set whether your Wi-Fi network is “discoverable.” This means that the router won’t broadcast its ID information (called the SSID) over the air for other devices to lock onto. Only devices that know to look for the router, like the ones you’ve already authorized to connect to it, will be able to use your connection.

Generally, you’ll find the ability to alter discoverability in the security tab of your router’s settings browser window. It’s usually a button that discusses making your network discoverable or disabling SSID broadcast. This is also a good opportunity to change your router’s SSID to something other than the manufacturer preset. There’s a reason you see so many networks named “Linksys” or “D-Link” — those are routers that have their manufacturer defaults still activated, and they suggest to hackers that the passwords are still set to defaults as well. Either way, it’s easier for someone to get into your network when they have more information, and a manufacturer SSID doesn’t help. Change it, then make it invisible. Just remember: You don’t want your network discoverable, and you don’t want your router to broadcast its SSID. Turn those things off.

This gets a bit technical, but like the MAC address filtering, it’s not nearly as complex as it at first seems. Each device that connects to the Internet does so using what’s called an IP address. Most networks use a system called “dynamic IP addresses,” which means that every time you connect to your network, the system assigns a temporary IP address to your system. That’s easy, but it also means anyone jacking into your network can get a temporary address just as easily as you can.

Instead, look for a tab in your router’s setup menu that lets you set “static IP addresses.” Like MAC filtering, you should be able to see the addresses of your devices at the moment; write them down, or specify a series of numbers to the router when you’re prompted to. These look complex (they’re usually long, like the 192.168.1.1 address), but that doesn’t mean they have to be complicated. You can actually set addresses with the same sets of numbers up front, but alter the numbers at the end to keep them consistent and easy to remember for you, but more difficult for intruders to access.

Once you set static IP addresses, you’ll have to use the numbers you wrote down on your computers when they try to connect to the network. In your Network Settings, you can specify a device’s IP address so that it always uses the same number, then you can tell your router to only allow device’s using those specified addresses to connect. While the MAC filtering will keep out some less in-the-know network jumpers, more complex hackers can get around that technology; they’ll have more trouble with your static, filtered IP addresses.

This is more for when you’re out in the world than at home, using your computer or smartphone to try to access the Internet when you’re at the airport or in other places. Beware of open, access-free networks. If they’re open to you, that means they’re open to other people, too, and your sensitive information can be plucked out of the air by people who have a little bit of expertise in this area.

“Free Public Wi-Fi,” for example, is a network that will often pop up in public places when you’re searching for a network. Don’t connect to it, though, as it isn’t really a free public network, and could very well be a quick and easy way for someone with ill intentions to get access to your computer.

For the most part, the best thing you can do is avoid open networks you don’t trust whenever possible. If you dodecide to access an open network, limit what you do on it. Don’t access sensitive websites or use important data like your bank passwords while attached to the network. You should also take steps to keep your computer from saving sensitive Internet information that could be accessed later, like a history or cookies cache. These are bits of data your web browser saves from websites to make accessing them easier later. When you tell a website to save your password, for example, it leaves a “cookie,” or small program, on your browser for use later. You can easily clear these from your browser’s settings menu.

These are simple steps you can take to protect your network, your data and your privacy, but the technical aspect often frightens off people who aren’t familiar with their Internet hardware. Trust us when we say that it’s usually less complicated than it appears. Consult your router’s manual if you need to, and look for the keywords in your router’s settings menu: things like “encryption key,” “firewall,” “disabling broadcasting and IP” and “MAC address filters” are good. Once you set them up and write the numbers down, you should be able to breathe a little easier knowing your access to the Internet is protected. source:appolicious.com/tech

Networking of computers have today become a very essential element of working styles and sharing files.Home and small office networks can be set up in a variety of configurations. The factors that can affect the ultimate network configuration vary with the needs and circumstances. In many cases, the financial support to connect a set of machines together in a network to share files, printers, and the Internet is limited. Consider the costs of acquiring and installing network adapters, hubs, other network devices such as residential gateways, and cabling. The network configuration can also be limited by the available options for connecting to the Internet. While standard modems and dial up access is available to nearly everyone and requires little additional investment, higher bandwidth needs might require a broadband link such as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) or cable.

Depending on the broadband provider, you might be required to use additional equipment such as a cable or DSL modem or a residential gateway. Most home or small networks are not managed by an information technology (IT) department. The configuration that is eventually chosen must match the resources available to install and maintain it. With the right configuration, anyone can do this. Whether the network is being set up in a business or home, environmental factors can affect the choices available. For example, some buildings might have restrictions on installing cabling or requirements to use existing cabling. Other locations might restrict the use of wireless network devices due to electrical shielding or interference. The Internet connection, the physical method of connecting one or more of the computers on your internal network, must be protected from Internet attacks. This can be done using a combination of translation and firewall technologies. The network configuration is invariably influenced by the knowledge, experience, and personal preferences of the person installing the network components. To provide connectivity between all the computers in your home or small office, the computers of the internal network must be either directly or indirectly connected to each other. To connect home or small office computers together, each computer must have a network adapter or device that connects the computer to the network.Network adapter choices include the following: Internal network adapters using a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) slot of your computer.

PCMCIA or PC Card network adapters installed in PC Card slots commonly found on laptop or notebook computers USB network adapters connected to either a USB port typically found on the back of a computer or a USB port on a USB hub.An important consideration here is the physical installation of the adapter. With PCI adapters, for example, you must open the computer and insert the adapter in an empty PCI slot. USB attached network adapters may be a better solution when simplicity is a requirement. Laptop computers will likely use PCMCIA or PC Card adapters. One must also choose a type of networking technology, sometimes referred to as the LAN media, which enables your computers to send information to each other. The most common networking technologies used for home networking include Ethernet, Phone line or Wireless. Used in organization networks, Ethernet is widely known, supported, and understood. Ethernet equipment consists of an Ethernet adapter and either coaxial cable (for 10Base2) to serially connect each computer together, or twisted pair cable (for 10BaseT or 100BaseT) to connect each computer to a hub.

A hub is required when you are using twisted pair cabling and connecting more than two 10BaseT or 100BaseT computers together. While Ethernet adapters are generally low cost, the cabling and hub needs add to the complexity and cost. Ethernet can operate at speeds of 10 megabits per second (Mbps) or 100 Mbps. To get 100 Mbps, you must use 100 Mbps Ethernet adapters, Category 5 twisted pair cabling, and connect to 100 Mbps port on an Ethernet hub. Used mostly in home and small office networks, phoneline uses telephone wiring as its medium for communication and operates at speeds up to 10 Mbps. Phoneline equipment consists of a phoneline adapter installed in each computer and standard telephone cables connected to standard phone jacks.

The advantage of phoneline networks is phone jacks are usually found throughout the house and close to areas where computers are used. Used in both organization and home networks, wireless technology uses radio signals to communicate so there is no cabling required. Wireless solutions are gaining popularity and becoming more affordable. There are many wireless products, however, wireless networks based on the IEEE 802.11 standard are becoming the preferred solution.

Organization or large business wireless networks are more likely to be using IEEE 802.11. If your home or small network is also based on IEEE 802.11, you can use the same network adapter to access both work and home or small office networks. IEEE 802.11b can operate at a speed of 11 Mbps. Wireless equipment consists of a wireless adapter installed in each computer. In contrast to the many ways that organizations and large businesses connect to the Internet, the small or home office typically connects to the Internet using individual internet connections for each computer, using residential gateways or using a host computer.

This paper intend to change the approach to access web accounts for social networks and possibly emails; it present in detail a new kind of social network entrée that can be applied to emails in future. Most social network and email accounts available today require that new users register to use the service while old users log in with their username and password. This appears to have come to stay since it is obtainable on all websites and little or no exception exists. Using the steps in this paper, it is possible to be an active member of a social networking website without prior registration. A social networking website helps to connect friends, families and groups, enabling them to share messages, multimedia files and other stuffs. Social networking has grown to become the new way people around the world connect and share information of interest in the 21st century. There over a billion social network web account submitting billions of posts weekly. It is normal for new users to register on social networking websites to have the privilege of membership. Registration helps to know the number of users on the website. Some internet users are not on social networking websites, for some reasons; some others too have quit using the service. Governments, Web provisions and individual factors play a role in all of these; web provision supersedes other factors. Governments can be made to understand how the website operates within their jurisdiction providing convincing points to make such service available there. This research paper takes registration off membership criteria for social networks; some may posit this as a suggestion for the future but the future is now.

A website maintains a series of web pages, multimedia files and other digital métiers on the World Wide Web; it is usually accessible via the internet or some other kind of network. A web page can be termed as a document connected to the Worldwide Web accessible via the internet using a web browser. Worldwide web can be termed as a network having websites that offer web pages, animation and multimedia files through the hypertext transfer protocol.

We can say the internet revolves around web pages or more broadly websites. There are billions of web pages available over the internet with millions uploaded weekly. They are used to share information, relay messages, as safe for data, for learning, business and other purposes.

Something about anything can be found on the internet with web pages as the medium; text, audio and video conversations are also available via the internet; use of the internet is vast and growing rapidly. Diversifying internet usage, certain individuals or groups found it reasonable to enable people connect themselves and have social relations. A social networking website offers social network service; this provides a platform where those tied on certain interdependencies get to each other. Individuals, groups, organization, share interests, values, vision, etc.

There are tens of websites offering social networking service; some have succeeded in adding value to lives. They help to connect friends and families that have been out of touch; aid contact and dissemination of urgent, important information; and probably give some young people something to do online.

Social networking is changing the way people use the internet; some social network posts are available in search results; news are sometimes revealed first on social networking sites; social networks have assisted in meting out information to people needing urgent assistance; it has also being used to protest or mobilize people to show their grievances against questionable authorities; organizations, governments, institutions, megastars, have deep presence on social networks so as to reach their own.

There are all kinds of social networking websites offering all kinds of service: some ease photo sharing; some enable quick and short message display; some enable sharing text and multimedia files together; some are used to educate; some are used for charity and some are used for video sharing. Creating a different and specific social network service can increase the popularity of a social networking website.

Market share of social networking websites have surged because of the growing number of users and ads on them. Social networking will never be obsolete it will rather evolve with better platforms as one presented in this research paper.

To the crux of this research paper: developing a social networking website that will not require any kind of registration for members, making everyone and anyone who can use the computer and have access to the internet automatically a member so long the person visits the website and log in with specific username and password.

Lets call the name of this proposed social networking website to avoid repeating the word social networking website. When is lunched, specific instructions will be available on the homepage before prospective users proceed to log in to the website.

is expected to be a very intelligent website, sensitive to activities carried out by users and their interests; since registration is absent, it will understand activities specific to users: locations, interests, instant conversation with friends or family, groups and government pages.

Users will be instructed on the front page of to choose specific username and password; usernames will also be case sensitive to boost security. Examples of unique usernames against passwords are: davidstePhenx2 / 1135799; stepHarixqz / qwertyasdf; dsatveIpdhen / geomagneticpin.

There are billions internet users worldwide; this direct pattern is appealing where people don’t have to register to relate, it is possible that many people share the same name, computer, Internet Protocol (IP) address and so on. Overcoming this is the first question this paper answer before jumping to the features of the website.

Choosing unique usernames and passwords will be advised to ensure utmost secrecy for users, however will make provisions to ensure that users that have previously logged on truly own accounts. The second information on the front page of will be to instruct first time users to build a profile to keep the page theirs from that time on.

When some one logs in uniquely to the website, he will be expected to have a profile containing original names, email (not compulsory), gender, age group, borough, interest, upload pictures, Education or work experience (either or both), music, songs, movies, newspapers, TV, governments, websites, books, quotes, lexicon, religious interest, political inclination, people, motivation, hopes and aspiration.

The list appears long; this is to make up for the ‘loose’ social platform where email and registration is needless. At least ten profile questions should be answered on first log in else account maybe put on pending or have the username and password recycled.

Developing a profile should not take time but depends on how fast the user types and the server speed at the time. After creating a profile, the user starts seeing posts and information related to his interest immediately.

Let me create a shady profile of me for better understanding, name: David Stephen; borough: Bronx, gender: male; age group: mid-early twenties; interest: Research and Development, Science and Technology; Work Experience: Theoretical Research Place; music: instrumentals; movies: Coming to America; newspapers: Telegraph; TV: BBC; Governments: Australian; websites: Xinhua, Google News; books: Applied Physics textbooks; quotes: Science Mothers The World; lexicon: wend, cornucopia; Religious Interest: Christianity; Political inclination: apolitical; People: The Queen, John Holdren, President Nelson Mandela; motivation: change; hopes: scientific expert; aspiration: research associate.

The profile is this simple and interesting. Someone may want to ask at this point that aside registration what differentiates from available social networking sites since users create similar profile. The difference is obtained in the way people connect and share, the unique way users are identified and the latitude on .

Let me say I log in with username: davidstePhenx2 and password: 1135799. I will create the profile above and additional information like anything I desire; example, hopeful itinerary: Resolute bay and Antarctica; wishes: I wish I have a good knowledge of economics to make me present relevant papers for world economic recovery.

After creating the profile; posts and information of interest will be seen around parts of my page; posts so interesting to keep me on for the time. Information from my profile will be intertwined to make posts available to me enthralling.

One of the unique login features of is to determine how users log in to the website.; Typing username and password will be likened to composing a message, where draft is saved per second; the intelligent website will know how fast users type their respective log in details, some users may decide to type username elsewhere to be copied and pasted on the username box while he types the password normally in the box or vice versa. ‘Remember me on this computer’ will also be available to be checked.

The next time I log in with my username and password, compares my typing to the first log in, will pardon me (for nuance) since it’s my first time. After this, I will be directed to a page, where the website detects my present location against my last location or (IP address), if it stays same, then I may be asked specific interest or wish or something I am expected to know alone my answer will be encrypted like password, my page opens after this. This may not be necessary if the user is remembered on his computer or if the uppercase letter of his username (or password if available) is typed correctly.

is unique and intelligent, and users are also expected to create unique and different profiles, the question that leads to opening users homepage maybe asked and answered by the user. It may answer the last activity on the site, it may answer read posts on the site, it may ask and answer mother age group, it may ask or answer any question that no ‘guess man’ may easily answer, failing to ask or answer right three times will automatically send the user back to log in page.

It can also be possible that after entering username and password, it takes users to a specific page, where all kinds of interests are listed: music, books, quotes, etc. Users that have created their profile will know how to get through. A user may have to rearrange some according to his preference by picking and dropping in ascending, descending, horizontal, vertical or diagonal order; a user may also click once or twice on some and thrice on others just to ensure it is the person actual user login on. Username and password not previously chosen takes user straight to the page to develop his profile.

Don’t say is stress to use; it is an intelligent website, it takes intelligence to enjoy the website, since humans have cognitive ability, everybody can relate.

Friends and close relations may know interests of certain people, how is it that they don’t guess to enter the user’s profile? First, username and password is assumed to be unknown; if they log in by chance, and know the interest, they may fail to know how many clicks or how interest arrangement appears.

What if the original user forgets some of his log in methods or leaves the website and returns after sometime? Since he owns the account it will be detected easily,

Not all his profile will be available to the public he should remember some inputs and use them to log in.

Forgetting username and password is easily corrected by creating another account and using the new account to mirror the old account; password reset may not be available immediately but will be monitored after complains to the intelligent website, it hopes to be restored after monitoring activities if similar to the former.

This website may also help reduce the risk of automatic login especially when the computer gets out of hand, these processes maybe followed.

On a user’s home page, there will be display of posts, news, from groups and folks of the user. Places to go on the website include “primary page” which shows posts, uploaded multimedia files and more to be listed according to preference of the user and to time.

“Me” page shares part of the user profile he’s wants others to see, this should contain part of the profile above. For a user viewing another user profile, may display profile which has similar answer to that user, for example, user A only knows user B political inclination is apolitical when same for own profile. will show intelligence on other pages too. There will be some general information free for display such as name and location. “Me” page also displays pictures and other multimedia files.

When viewing the profile of others, “me” page will appear as “him” for male, “her” for female, “us” for country, “we” for groups and so many other pronouns that respectively apply.

“Make friends”will be another page on the website, this will help user locate friends by sort of an advance search; important tags in the search is friend full names, location, education or work and any other information a user has about another person to ensure the person is found since email search does not apply here.

Pictures may or may not be displayed with results; direct link can be created between friends that have informed themselves of their presence on . Family may also be linked alike; groups can be joined depending on user’s interests. Group updates and posts will be available at one corner of users’ webpage.

Family or relatives list maybe separate from friends list where there is special connection with cousins, nephews, nieces, kinsmen, kinswomen and so on, this maybe used to bind family online (young users have right to their privacy here). Respective family members can use the website normally without interference, interests relating to their location and origin will be available for them.

When friends searched for are found, they will be added to the user’s friends list this will make them relate partly, the user will only be able to view available public profile halfway until the recipient accepts the friendship; this applies to family also.

For friends the advance search does not find, users will be advised to reduce the number of tags to ensure that broad results are obtained and such friend could possibly be found. It is also possible that the person has not been on

It will be possible to send direct and instant messages between users, however, a button is provided to clear off or immediately decline the conversation if wanted, and messages may also be returned in the same format sent showing that the recipient declined the message.

According to the sample profile I provided above, it shows that I automatically draw interest in research and development towards myself, this may come in relation to North America my location and young researchers of my age group. It may also be advanced to physics (relating to books or subject if filled in my profile). Updates will be provided across this and I can also search for interesting groups to join.

Music can be uploaded from one’s computer and be played while using ; a song can also be used as login verification where users jump to his favorite part of the song or select what part he wants to start listening to the song.

Watching uploaded videos on the website will be made possible and Links to watch videos on another website will be posted for friends to see. There will be online games that can be played between users having themselves on the same (friends or family) list; there will also be games that can be played individually by users.

The website will be fun with expectation to incorporate many much things relating to interest and location. Freely accessible stuffs across the web will be available on the website, links to read books and article, history and general knowledge notes will all be available.

A radio station can broadcast from here or provide update to listeners anywhere around the world, users have the chance to listen especially to past broadcasts uploaded; a good student who writes can upload his articles on , since the article is uploaded with tags, people can get to the article within or be directed from search engines.

Government of nations and specific departments will be encouraged to have profile where they can see doings of their people; such people too can send their recommendations to them. For ministries present on it will be easy for users to see the good works in departments and governments of other nations and recommend their government or respective department to do likewise.

intends to be a home where one can stay and have a good time, whatever interests a user can be linked or be available on the website. A users can change colors and fonts, can also have his page in 3dimension, get news as it unfolds, see discussions making waves, learn about the future, connect with others, get informal education, get important parts of articles related to their findings and do many much things.

There is flexibility in using this website as members too can create as they want; intelligent can invite and bring on websites and links that people will really like for example, those showing statistics, time, calendar and many others in diverse categories.

I love this website and I can’t wait to log in when the website is developed.

This appears to be the most interesting aspect of social networking where users can identify with celebrities, nations, governments, institutions, schools, places, subjects, teachings, gadgets, purpose and aspirations.

How will this be structured for where registration is needless and truly social devoid of serious attachment by users? First, I want to classify what users can align with as groups. Let me take a news paper as example, Telegraph, intending to come on the network, it would have been preferred if they use their official email to sign on the network, the risk is that some funny persons elsewhere may create the account using their email before they do.

Having an official email to create a account maybe unreasonable as the only option for groups to be on the network; another likely option is to have accessed from the website of telegraph to direct them to open the account. Official email use and webmaster effort will be intertwined in having this.

There are malicious websites; we hope to guard against them, man to computer conversation maybe necessary here. The webmaster of telegraph will create an official telegraph account on and other reporters or columnist intending to have an account do through the webmaster; but for uniformity, individuals would have log on with username and password while groups register as obtainable on other socials.

Intelligent will access the website of telegraph and ensure it is Daily Telegraph of the United Kingdom; it creates a ‘pre-account’ and monitors their website for some hours before confirmation. The question arising from this line: will this apply to thousands of websites and businesses available over the internet?

It should. This means having an account (username and password only login) with , websites will be provided the opportunity to link from their portal and also share posts related to their business on a part of their webpage or a small window. Known and popular groups will need some verification before confirmation, any other group bearing similar names to the known ones will respect the groups that have logged in already.

Websites interested will be allowed to share their post to groups before log in attempt or confirmation by . This social will really be social, where there is freedom and ingeniousness from users.

What if someone log in and tries using the name of an organization? Normally, direct login is available for individuals;as profile is developed and saved as draft, understands and refers such individual to group profile creation, through their website or official email.

If official email or website is unavailable, a new approach will be opened for the group, this maybe the case for small businesses, upcoming entertainers, up and coming groups, etc. One of the questions in having a profile for this group is “have you ever done anything that has been reported anywhere online”

If yes, they will be asked to provide the link (they are to search online). They can also provide their official page on other social networking website.

visits the link and identifies them, if the prior information on their profile matches the description, they are told to provide their email, the profile is therefore developed; their posts and doings on the website is closely followed for sometime before final confirmation of account.

If the answer to the quoted question is no, will request the group representative developing the profile to register as an individual first; the profile page will state that he represents qhz merchant or whatever name. They maybe advised to get a weblog or officialize their page pending the confirmation of the profile; which has no specific duration.

David Stephen representing qhz merchant will be different from David Stephen’s individual account. The profiles will be different since the former represents a group or organization while the latter represents an individual.

Up and coming celebrities may need some verification to avoid being impersonated, for them they will be allowed to have their full profile as an individual with a public consideration, to have friends but any user can be their friend without formal consent. Their profile will be made available to the public; they will be allowed to put links on their profile to direct users to video sharing websites containing their audio tracks and videos.

In creating a public profile for this upcoming level, they may need to give sincere answers to questions like how far they have gone towards their career in terms of estimation of how many people should likely know them and how many should in coming weeks. These and more specific questions will help the website place (or grade) them appropriately, if their answers appear bogus, compared to their ‘status’ the page may have to be refreshed.

does not despise small beginnings; the information is to ensure that hands them effective web provision in relation to their kind of music if artist or sport if athlete; resources to boost their performance, putting them in spotlight for other users around their location will be another feature for them.

The usually way groups and famous individuals throwaway their social network page, will apply here also, for example daily telegraph can let people know through their prints or website that they can visit stef.com/telegraph to access their stef page; convincing people that a multidimensional approach is given to their news and information on .

Special groups for a purpose can also be created say ‘arise for charity’ a profile will be developed for such and questions of how they intend to advertise the page will be asked and the need to have such group at the time; will help alert people who share similar interests with the group.

Multinational corporations will have their page match their profile on ; this means their profile will link them with interest, businesses, people, projects etc. So works to help them grow; supports users towards their vision, mission and core values.

is also expected to have a page where it announces new groups, famous celebrities who just joined the network, this maybe provided by an official page. Within territories that don’t allow socials; stef can operate there since users within the territory will only connect and share with same users staying there. Any user on stef that travels into the country will only share with friends on same his list within the territory.
This automatically isolates the users in that territory rather than have stef blank in such territories.

Everyone is automatically a member of so long username and password can be provided via the internet on . To estimate the amount of users on the number of unique usernames and password that have logged in already is considered and the number of profiles created is also considered. Users of a website as will surge across boundaries in weeks.

I am sure you have questions, I have question too; so who do we ask? Can we ask those guys to turn to a new Page in the fourth month or asked those referred to as ‘computer codes’ giant. Their answers may interest us since they may want to have such service.

Maybe can be built by a small business in Thomasville, or a growing tech company in Dunedin, whoever is interested may have more from me.

This should be a research paper with the subject of this heading to be conclusion; this is tech and even the paper is social from the first heading. Social networking makes people happy, especially the popular ones, but this kind of social that gives much latitude too will do.

I am not and have never been on any of the socials but have a sound knowledge of what goes down there. For many may have me as member, while I learn to best

Interruptive marketing is when advertisers force their advertising on you, like through a TV or radio commercial. Don’t use it to try and build your network marketing business.

If you’re listening to your favorite radio station and out of nowhere an advertisement from some local car dealership that screams and shouts stupid, child like offers over, and over comes on, most of us quickly change stations to avoid hearing their rhetoric. We literally tune it out. It is not much different when building your network marketing business. People can “tune us out,” too.

Here are 4 Key network marketing tips for preventing network marketing leads from tuning you out.

One: When you are calling your network marketing recruiting list, and they answer the phone, politely ask if they have a minute? If you “interrupt” them at the wrong time they will tune you out. That is not a good network marketing strategy. If you want to become a network marketer who is even moderately successful, you simply have to employ the simple network marketing strategy of asking if they have a minute.

Two: Radio people and car dealerships think we are stupid. One minute they tell us their cars will all be sold in the next 10 minutes. Next minute, it’s such a fantastic offer that they will be open until midnight. When building your network marketing business we make those same mistakes. Your network marketing strategy like many MLM network marketing training gurus suggest is to call your network marketing leads with this months special. You tell your network marketing leads that this “special” ends on (fill in the blank) day. The next thing you know you are telling them about your network marketing program (2 weeks later) and your fantastic offer has been extended (again). They of course tune you out. Not exactly a good network marketing strategy, but it is done every hour of every day.

When building your network marketing business, forget the hype. Forget the special. Features tell. Benefits sell. When showing someone your network marketing program, tell your network marketing leads that you have the fastest left handed widget on the market (feature). Then tell your network marketing leads that because it is the fastest, they can then get their widget work done in less than half the time of any other widget (benefit). That is one sound network marketing strategy (feature) to better help you become a network marketer who earns a lot more money (feature).

Three: We are told that to build your network marketing business, it is a numbers game. You have to call hundreds of network marketing leads to find the “diamonds”.

Just keep at it, that is the typical MLM network marketing training.

If it doesn’t work after the first one hundred, shouldn’t logic tell us that it “ain’t gonna work” for the second hundred either? Old school mlm network marketing training teaches us that if 3 people start buying your left handed widget from you, instead of “Walleymart” or store X (and you being their family or friend) that they would rather buy from you. Now go find 3 network marketing leads who find 3 network marketing leads, who find 3 and convince them to do the same. It can’t be any better than that. HA! That is NOT a good network marketing strategy either.

When building your network marketing business today, why not use a network marketing program using today’s technology?

Unfortunately people are slow to keep up with the times. Time has passed most of them by and left them bleeding, dead or dying in the ditch and dead broke.

Four: Network marketing programs that use Automated Marketing Systems (feature) make more money in less time with more programs (benefit) than any other network marketing program out there. That is a great network marketing strategy for building your network marketing business.

Using Automated Marketing Systems to build your network marketing business is the best network marketing strategy to cash in big time with the social networks like facebook, youtube, twitter and others. Automated Marketing Systems allow you to monetize even more network marketing opportunities like funded proposal marketing and multiple streams of income.

If you’re not achieving success building your network marketing business, follow these Four network marketing tips. Its time to build a solid foundation with a solid network marketing strategy. Network Marketing Success in the Information age is about implementing new and better ways of automated marketing (feature). It’s not hard. In fact, it’s quite simple and will, One: make your life a whole lot easier, and Two: Make you a lot more money (benefit) when you implement these automated systems as your network marketing strategy they can and will take you over the T O P (Total Ongoing Prosperity).

When computer networks are operating well, that we have a tendency to hope is normally, the inner workings of the system modules are clear to the typical user. The most common parts on a laptop network, not counting cables, are “routers”, “hubs”, and “switches”. Several of these modules can be similar cosmetically. Every assembly typically has Ethernet connectors (RJ45, which looks like an oversized phonephone plug) and LED indicators. However, these modules operate differently, and it’s important to understand the differences.

Modern network hardware operates on the “Open System Interconnection” (OSI) standard. This customary defines how communications on a network should be implemented. By conforming to the present normal, modules from different manufacturers will coexist on the identical network. Wireless networks (WiFi) and therefore the 802.11X customary are a further subset of network systems.

When a message is sent between computers, it’s broken into parts. At the bottom level, the message is reduced to “1″ and “zero” bits. The following level could be a group of bits called a “frame”. A frame contains its management info, as well as target address and error detection. The next level could be a cluster of frames called a “packet”. The terms frame and packet are sometimes used interchangeably. If a message is sent on a complex network just like the Net, a number of the packets might take a different path, and be recombined at the destination.

Error detection is employed with each frames and packets. The foremost common routine is named “Cyclic Redundancy Check” (CRC). CRC sums of all the “one”s within the frame or packet. This variety is stored as a hexadecimal price at the tip of the frame/packet. At the receiving finish, the process is repeated. If the two hexadecimal values agree, the take a look at passes. If not, the receiving device requests that the sending device resend. Most of this functionality is performed by integrated circuits (chips) within the network modules.

The Hub

The network hub operates on the first layer of the OSI customary, known as the “physical layer”. The hub is the most simple of the three modules. A hub is not awake to the contents of the message that’s processed; it handles the message as bits. It merely records the signal, and rebroadcast it to any or all, together with back to the port that sent the message. An “active” hub can clean the electrical signal of noise and amplify the signal before rebroadcast. A “passive” hub does not amplify the received signal; it just receives a symptom, and rebroadcast the signal as received to each port. Hubs are typically used to link multiple computers with a printer.

The Network Switch

The network switch operates on the second layer of the OSI commonplace, known as the “information link layer”. The network switch, as indicated by its name, switches signal ways, so that a message frame goes to a selected destination. A switch can improve a networks performance, particularly on networks with many computers. A switch has enough on-board intelligence to recollect the path to each destination. The network switch handles a message in frames.

After you connect a pc to a network switch, the switch will record the Media Access Management or “MAC” address of the pc’s network interface card (NIC). This is often called address protocol, or “ARP”. When a frame is received supposed for a selected pc, the switch sends the frame only to that computer. By preventing methods of the network from being utilized by each frame, network resources are conserved. Laptop A will send a frame to pc B, whereas simultaneously, pc C is sending a frame to computer D.

The Network Router

The network router operates on the third layer of the OSI normal, referred to as the “network layer”. A router’s name is additionally indicative of its role. Routers have some of the same capabilities as switches, however routers are most typically used to attach 2 or a lot of networks. For example, a router may be used to connect a wireless network with a typical local area network (LAN). Another common use is to attach a LAN with the Web (a “wide-area network”, or “WAN”). In this role, the router uses “Network Address Translation” (NAT) so that each one of the computers attached to the LAN can share one IP address. A network router handles the message in packets. A router uses the IP addresses within the packets to route them between multiple networks.

A personal pc will be configured to handle the operate of a router if it is equipped with router software and 2 or more network interface cards (NIC). A separate NIC is needed for every network.

A router is capable of advanced functions, including serving as DHCP (domain host management protocol) server and Firewall. A Firewall protects computers from potential hazards from the opposite computers outside the network. Linking multiple networks typically requires the conversion of protocols.

A router is an very diverse classification. Routers could offer connectivity inside offices, between totally different locations, and between businesses and also the Internet. The most important routers connect Net service providers, are employed in very giant business networks, or connect a business with a satellite link to a foreign corporate locale. Advanced routers are powerful computers, complete with microprocessors. Terribly refined routers are employed by the Web to manage the network traffic most efficiently.

A router maintains a table known as “routing info base” (RIB) that tracks information about the offered routes. The RIB will be static (manually determined by a network administrator) or dynamic (frequently updated based mostly on changing conditions). A RIB is simple on a little LAN, however will be very complex in the very massive routers used on the Internet.

Outline

There are way more varieties of network modules than the three mentioned here, and there will be important overlap in roles. For instance, an “intelligent hub” can have many of the characteristics of a network switch. Wireless networks (WAN) have much in common with their conventional LAN cousins, but additional protocol is added for the special security and interference issues specific to wireless networks. Multiple roles may be combined into a single assembly. Network routers typically have subassemblies that operate as network switches.

What is network file sharing and why do I need it?

Every person that users computer or smartphone very often needs to view, copy or move files between the desktop computers, laptops, netbooks and smartphones. The files may be images, music, video files or documents. The easiest way to transfer files from one computer to another (PC to PC, Mac to Mac, PC to Mac, and vice versa) is by using a home network (also known as LAN – Local Area Network). LANs can be wired (with network cables), wireless (Wi-Fi), or a combination of the two. LANs are also widely used in most businesses.

Even if you have only one computer (or only one laptop or netbook) you still can benefit greatly from a home network if you have a smartphone or network attached storage device (NAS, basically a hard disk with network connection). Once you have a working network, you have to set up the network file sharing: the ability to share all the files in given disks or folders with the other computers on the network.

Within a network, every computer, laptop, nettop or NAS device must have a unique name (network computer name), which is used to find and connect to this computer. Every computer or NAS device may share one or more folders that will be visible from the other computers (or smartphones). Such folder is called network share or shared folder and must have a unique name within the computer.

For example, your desktop PC may have the name Atlas and to provide few network shares: Downloads, Music and Photos. If you want to connect to one or more of these shares, you will have to use the following addresses: \Atlas\Downloads, \Atlas\Music and \Atlas\Photos.

How to set up a home network (LAN)

Besides the sharing of files, the other two major uses of a home network are the internet connection sharing and the printer sharing. The first one allows all computers (and smartphones, if you have a Wi-Fi router or access point) to use your ADSL or cable internet connection and the second one allows you to print documents from one computer to a printer that is attached to another computer (or directly to the network). If you already have these services, then you have a working home network and you just need to set up the network file sharing.

First, you need to build the physical (hardware) part of your network. Basically, you need to connect together all computers that will participate in the network. Then you may need to change the settings of the computers depending on their operating system. The following guides are good source of information about the needed hardware and configuration settings:
http://mobile.milincorporated.com/my-explorer-network-sharing-setup.html#ch2

Accessing your network shares from your smartphone with myExplorer

At this point you have a working Wi-Fi network and some network shared folders on one or more computers (or network storage devices – NAS). All you need to do is to add the network shares that you want to access to your myExplorer application on the smartphone.

Start the myExplorer application and you will see its main screen. Tap the Add button on the lower left corner of the screen and the Add network folder form will appear. You have to enter the following things:

* Computer name. This is the network name of the computer that you want to access. In the (very rare) cases when the NetBIOS name service is not enabled on your network, you can enter the exact IP address of the computer in the field Computer IP address. Even in such case, you can still fill the Computer name field to see more familiar name instead of IP address in myExplorer main screen.
* Folder (share) name. This is the exact name of the network share that you have created on this computer.
* Computer IP address. Optional field, use only if there is no NetBIOS name service on your network (i.e. almost never).
* WINS server IP address. Optional field, use only if you have a WINS server (this is the case only in some business networks).
* User name. The user name of the account that have the right to access the network share. You can leave this field empty if you are using anonymous (guest) account.
* Password. The password of the account that have the right to access the network share. You can leave this field empty if you are using anonymous (guest) account.

After you fill the required fields, tap the Save button and you are done! You will see the new network share on the myExplorer main screen (it will appear in the form \Atlas\Photos – Atlas is the name of the computer and Photos is the name of the network share). In order to enter the network folder, you just need to tap the network share.

Learn all about accessing your network shares from your smartphone:
http://mobile.milincorporated.com/my-explorer-network-sharing-setup.html#ch4

        So what is a network?

A network supports the interconnection of many devices and a protocol for ensuring they can communicate with one another in the most effective way. The best way to understand how networks work is to visualise each element of the network as a layer, one on top of another. The conceptual model that describes this layered model is known as the OSI Reference Model, which has seven layers. All Network professionals use this in their day to day design and engineering work.

For our purposes we can simplify it into three layers, going from the bottom up there is:

The Physical layer – the cable between machines (typically called 100BaseT, uses four pairs), the card in the back of your machine (802.3 Ethernet NIC) or Wireless Networking adapter (802.11n etc) etc. Includes the Internet protocol (TCP/IP), gaming and file transfer based protocols (such as UDP), and VPN networking from home to your office (PPTP or IPSec) And the Session, Presentation and Application Layers – file sharing and database access in the office (NetBIOS, Named Pipes, NFS), Internet browsing (HTTP, DNS), eMail (MIME, SMTP, POP3) and securing Internet banking or shopping (SSL/TLS)

Breaking it out into layers like this helps us understand when we buy software or hardware which layer(s) it works at and therefore what it can provide for us. Is it providing connectivity, access to another Wide Area Network (WAN, i.e. for the Internet), security or access to my own Local Area Network (LAN, i.e. for access to a printer). It’s extremely useful when diagnosing problems with networks.

Network Addressing

In order to send a letter to your friend in the next town, or a country on the other side of the world the postal system requires an address which hones down through the address layers from country to house number to narrow down exactly where your friend lives and which post box the postman should drop the letter in. Digital Networks work in a similar way only rather than moving mail around they move digital data packets.

MAC addresses – The Media Access Control address identifies a single piece of hardware on the physical network and is a scheme with a long number designed to be globally unique. It’s set in the hardware at the point of manufacture. An example of a MAC address is 1A-2F-1D-9C-7A-3C (Layer 2).

IP address – The Internet Protocol address uniquely identifies all network interfaces that are typically endpoints on the Internet, or your own local IP based network (in an office). Within the local or global (Internet) address space the IP address must be unique, otherwise the IP routing protocol won’t know where to send the packet. An IP address will be mapped across to a physical MAC address as described above, the mapping is held in the routing tables of router hardware on the network. A sample IP address is 192.168.0.1 (Layer 4). Addresses are divided up into Class A, B and C each having a larger address space for larger organisations requirements. Small offices and domestic addresses are almost always Class C and the 192.168.0.nnn network is reserved for anyone to use on any small private network.

DNS name (and server) – Domain Name Server based addresses are just names, with dots to designate levels of uniqueness. We are all familiar with Internet domain names such as; www.cryopc.co.uk, the DNS name in this instance is the ‘cryopc’ element of the full address. DNS servers store all these hostnames and the IP addresses they map to.

Network Security

Your home hub/router will usually have built in security features, including the following:

MAC identification – Using the MAC address of the hardware as a list of authorised hardware to access your network. Its a good basic precaution but unfortunately a dedicated hacker can spoof a known MAC address and gain access if they really want to. It just stops the opportunists.

WEP and WPA – Are the most widely available forms of wireless network encryption and security. Without the WEP or WPA keys your wireless network is unusable to outsiders. WEP is now considered quite weak as hackers have demonstrated ways of cracking it fairly quickly, and once cracked its no longer secure. WPA is the more secure system as it is harder to crack (has a much longer passphrase) and once cracked still only leaves a very small window of opportunity for exploitation as it derives a cipher for each packet that changes constantly. It utilises TLS encryption just like the Internet checkout padlock. Still the network is only ever as secure as the passphrase used to protect it, so pick an obscure one.

VPN, SSL/TLS and IPsec – Most of us don’t even know we are using these technologies but they all work in a similar way. They use sophisticated and robust encryption to ensure private information sent over a public network is not visible to snoopers. SSL/TLS is used most widely and you will recognise it as the checkout padlock, or encryption used when typing in credit card details when Internet shopping.

NAT – Network Address Translation isn’t really security at all but about economising on the rapidly diminishing availability of IPv4 addresses on the Internet, but it does shield your private network addresses from the outside by creating the impression to the internet that only a single address (your routers own public address) is accessing the Internet from your network. This means ad hoc access to your local network from the outside is much more difficult without internal network devices initiating a connection first (and thereby establishing a NAT translation).

Typical network devices

Segment – a segment isn’t really a device it’s a single network cable potentially connected to multiple machines, but sometimes only a single machine. It can be useful to think of it as a device in its own right as the cable itself imposes limits, resource demands and capabilities on the network.

Router – maps one address in one address space to another in another through routing tables and protocols stored on the device, usually in memory.

Hub / Switch – Most Hubs are known as switching hubs as each network port on the hub functions as its own segment of the LAN thus it’s able to utilise the full bandwidth of the link and not share it with everyone on the same LAN.

Firewall – Can be software or dedicated hardware based the latter widely being considered the best. Windows has a built in firewall and most home hub/routers also have them preconfigured and built-in. Firewall rules determine what traffic you want to let out, and into your network. Usually they are preconfigured to let out only connections initiated internally (to prevent ad hoc attacks) and to let back in only traffic on certain known safe ports such as those commonly used for the Internet, http and ftp. Games can sometimes have issues with firewalls as they will use other ad hoc ports. You will need to create custom rules to get around this problem.

Wireless Access Point – Wireless networks are effectively airborne segments of network. The access point serves as a point of access, and also secures the network as discussed in the above security section.

In a small network it often makes sense to combine many network devices into a single physical device. That’s why most small office routers also have a Firewall, Hub and Wireless Access point built in. However in a medium sized organisation or large enterprise single devices need to have more reliability, capacity and security and so tend to be dedicated devices to a single purpose. A firewall for example can cost US0 with a hub and router built-in or for a government departmental web site it could cost US,000 as a single appliance.

Benefits of different types of Network

Cable based networking – 802.3 Ethernet, which typically supports 100Mbit/s (CAT5 cable) or 1Gbit/s (CAT5e cable) speeds and higher if you are reasonably up to date. Most network devices are backward compatible and will fallback to the speed of the slowest device in the network. Cable is the best for reliability an speed.

Wireless Networking – It is defined by the standard 802.11a, b, g, and n (at Draft 2.0 stage at the time of writing this article). Wireless offers flexibility, roaming, convenience but quality of reception can be very patch in large or complex buildings and this affects connectivity and connection speed. In addition to the standards MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) uses multiple antennas to increase signal strength and quality, increasing range and available bandwidth.

Broadband, ADSL and Cable – all use local telephony cable and fibre optic trunks to provide homes and small businesses with relatively high speed Internet access. Each one uses a different technology standard for implementation and you must buy the correct router or modem.

Setting up your own home or small office network

Based on the information provided above you need to decide what you need. If you are starting with nothing then a good quality 802.11n combination router/hub device is the best solution. They are now more or less preconfigured out of the box and only require connecting to the Internet. Access to mobile devices, laptops and desktops can be provided by the Wi-Fi support or for fixed desktop by network switch port and cable.

Don’t forget to enable the WPA security with a good mixed alphanumeric and non-alphanumeric passphrase. For extra protection limit access to only device MAC addresses you know.

Troubleshooting my network

There are a number of low level tools that are very easy to use that help network engineers diagnose problems with your network. It pays dividends to get familiar with them for yourself. To use these tools in Windows run the command line interpreter cmd.exe (type in cmd after Start->Run), then simply type the command in.

ping – using a hostname or address it ‘bounces’ a network packet off the endpoint. Rather like a submarine using sonar, hence the name ‘ping’. It outputs status information to confirm whether it has been able to reach the endpoint or not and how long the roundtrip took.

ipconfig – reports all the network information for all of the network adapters on your PC including wireless, cable, MAC address (physical address), IP address, gateway address (router), subnet (class of address), hostnames, connection state etc.

tracert – reports the route through the network that a data packet will take to reach a host. It can help provide indications of why a connection might be slow or not working by indicating where it gets stuck in the network. Like ping it also reports time taken to travel the route.
